Diane Xavier as our 'Volunteer of the Month.' Diane has been a volunteer for our North Texas radio stations since January 2009. Diane is a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland, TX. She has come to the studio at least twice a week for nearly two years to help primarily with on air voice and production. Diane writes and delivers the local Catholic news for the 'Good News' program which airs ever Monday afternoon on KATH 910 AM. She also fills in as the phone screener for the show when necessary. Diane also writes, voices and produces public service announcements (PSAs) for KATH 910 AM each week and is fond of going out and about around town as our roaming reporter, covering stories around North Texas pertinent to local Catholics. She can always be counted on to help with our twice a year radiothons for KATH as well. Diane's dream is to one day combine her Catholic faith with work at a local sports radio station. In the meantime, she's gaining valuable experience as a volunteer with the Guadalupe Radio Network and is providing much-needed and appreciated assistance to the Guadalupe Radio Network in North Texas. We appreciate Diane very much and are happy to highlight her and thank her this month as our Volunteer of the Month! God bless you, Diane!
On the next Rise and Walk San Antonio on September 13th I'll be speaking with Shanna Salazar, the interim director of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. We'll learn all about this wonderful ministry and how you can help them in their mission. Keep checking back for updates as to the other guests on the show.
